JAMMU, AUG 26: Dogra Group of institutions has added another feather in its cap with the inauguration of General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club (Affiliated to J&K Rifle association).
Dilbagh Singh, IPS, DGP, Commandant General Home Guard/Civil Defence & SDRF J&K and president J&K Rifle Association in Dogra Educational Complex Bari Brahmana, Jammu, who was the chief guest, inaugurated state of the art, ’10m Shooting Range’, which is fully air conditioned and well equipped to meet international standards.
Brigadier Rajan Jamwal Group Commander, J&K NCC Group HQ, Jammu and Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister, president, Dogra Sadar Sabha and chairman, Dogra Educational Trust were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering the chief guest, Dilbagh Singh gave his blessings and updated the audience with the sports scenario in J&K state and appreciated the efforts of setting up a world class shooting range for facilitating the potential shooters of the region.
In his presidential remarks, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, president, Dogra Sadar Sabha and chairman, Dogra Educational Trust briefing the audience said that shooting sport had a long tradition in India especially in the Duggar land for producing patriotic and valorous warriors and decorated officers.
Earlier delivering his welcome address in the Dogra Educational Complex’s auditorium, Director Administration & Campus Development and Joint Secretary General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club, S.C. Khajuria formally and whole heartedly welcomed all for being a part of the inaugural ceremony. Brigadier Rajan Jamwal while addressing the audience gave a brief on shooting as a sport and its prospects. He further added that the Rifle Club will help develop home-grown shooters.
Concluding the inaugural ceremony Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust and Gen. Secretary General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club thanked the dignitaries. The ceremony finally concluded with the national anthem.
