Former J&K minister passes away

SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Ghulam Mohiddin Soffi passed away at a local hospital in Srinagar today after a prolonged illness.
Sofi was about 70.
He was admitted to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) recently where he breathed his last this morning.
He was Forest Minister in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-Congress coalition government, headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in 2002.
Sofi joined PDP after serving his association with Peoples Conference (PC) and contested election from Handwara constituency in Kupwara district.
