2 cops injured as terrorists attack police party

SRINAGAR: Two police personnel were injured after terrorists attacked a police search party in Bandipora’s Hajin area of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Earlier today, security forces had launched a search and cordon operation in the area to nab the terrorists.
In a separate incident, two Army soldiers lost their life in an overnight encounter between security forces and terrorists in Awneera village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian. Three soldiers have also been injured. The encounter has been going on since yesterday evening. The area has been cordoned, as around three terrorists are believed to be holed in. (Agencies)
Meanwhile, a civilian injured in a petrol bomb attack in summer capital, Srinagar, died in a hospital this morning, a police spokesman said. He said unidentified persons hurled a petrol bomb on a police naka at Badyari Chowk, Dalgate on the bank of Dal Lake last evening in which a civilian Imtiyaz Ahmad was critically wounded. The injured was rushed to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), where he died, police spokesperson said. A case has been registered and a massive hunt has been launched to nab the attackers, he added. (Agencies)
