Palestinian woman stabs, wounds Israeli in Jerusalem

Israel: An Israeli man was lightly wounded in a stabbing attack near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City Saturday, according to a spokesperson for Jerusalem police. According to police, the suspected attacker was a thirty year-old Arab female and a Jerusalem resident who stabbed the man at a Jerusalem intersection, injuring him lightly. Police stationed nearby immediately responded to the incident and were able to overpower the assailant. She was arrested and taken in for questioning. Israel’s Channel 2 reported that the suspected attacker mistook a Christian Arab light rail worker for a Jew because of a Hebrew inscription on his shirt, stabbing him in the shoulder. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment according to Israel’s emergency medical services, Magen David Adom. (Agencies)
