Centre cannot extend Statistical Data bill to J&K: Mir

GJ REPORT
JAMMU, JUL 27: Stating that Parliament cannot extend the Statistical Data bill to J&K without concurrence of the State Legislature, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, G A Mir described it as a deliberate attempt to undermine the authority of State Legislature.
Mir also blamed the PDP for supporting every wrong initiative of Central Government for the sake of remaining in power and cautioned that extending Statistical bill to State, without seeking consent of State Legislature would not be in interest of State, rather it will lead to further alienation of the people.
Mir added that Centre should keep in view the turbulent situation prevailing in the State for last 30 years. Extending Central laws to the State without concurrence of the State Legislature will be treated as a deliberate move to erode the ‘Special Status’ of the State.
