No fun of hosting Iftaar when cops sacrificing lives: Cong

Srinagar: Staying away from an Iftiyar party hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in view of ongoing holy month of Ramzan, the state Congress party today said that there was no fun of hosting Iftiyar party when policemen are sacrificing their lives for the nation while fighting terrorism.
“Six policemen sacrificed their lives while fighting terrorism and the chief minister was hosting an Iftiyar. What a mockery,” Ravinder Sharma, Chief Spokesperson of JKPCC said.
“We have stayed away from the occasion because it is time to express grief,” he added.
The former MLC said that during wreath laying ceremony, none of the BJP Minister attended it, so there is no fun of hosting an Iftiyar.
“This is unacceptable,” Jugal Kishore, former Minister and senior Congress leader here said.
He said that how the chief minister can host an Iftiyar when security personnel are sacrificing their lives while fighting terrorism.
“BJP leaders have no time to attend wreath laying ceremony but were very much present during an Iftiyar party,” Jugal Kishore Sharma said.
Pertinently from BJP, Speaker Kavinder Gupta and MLA Rajesh Gupta while from PDP Ministers Zulfikar Choudhary and Abdul Haq Khan attended the Iftiyar hosted by Ms Mufti here tonight.
