Army jawan martyred in ceasefire violation by Pakistan

Jammu, Jun 16: Pakistan Army today initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Naoshera sector of Rajouri district.
“At around 0515h today, Pakistani Army fired unprovoked on forward posts while own troops retaliated strongly and effectively,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that in the fire exchange, Naik Bakhtawar Singh was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries while being evacuated to the Military Hospital.
Naik Bakhtawar Singh, 34, belonged to Village Hajipur, Tehsil Mukerian, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab and is survived by his wife Jasbir Kaur and three children, son aged 11 years, daughter aged 9 years and another son aged 10 months.
The spokesman said that the wreath laying cermony will held tomorrow at Rajouri.
The mortal remains of the martyred soldier will be transported to his native village where he will be laid to rest with full military honours.
Naik Bakhtawar Singh was a brave and sincere soldier.
“The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” he added.
