Pak violates truce on LoC, IB in Rajouri, Samba

JAMMU, JUN 11: Pakistan today yet again violated the ceasefire agreement and fired heavily on the Line of Control and the International Border in Rajouri and Jammu districts.
“Pakistani Army this morning at around 0945 hrs initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms and automatics along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bimber Gali sector of Rajouri district,” a Defence Spokes-man here said.
He said the Indian Army posts retaliated strongly and effectively, adding, “the firing stopped at 1020 hrs.” The Spokesman further said that Pakistani Army also initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, heavy automatics and mortars from midnight till 0040 hrs along the LoC in Naoshera sector.
“Army posts are effectively retaliating and the firing is still on,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Ra-ngers also fired and targeted forward BSF posts on IB in Ramgarh sector of Samba.
“At around 1000 hrs this morning without any provocation, Pak Rangers started firing on forward BSF troops in Ramgarh Sector,” an official spokesman here said.
He said the BSF also retaliated, adding “during exchange of fire, Pak Rangers also fired few small mortar shells.
“Intermittent fire lasted till 1045 hrs, while no loss of life, injury or any damage has so far been reported in the firing,” he added. (AGENCIES)
