Chief Secretary stresses on prompt redressal of public grievances

SRINAGAR, JUN 2: To ensure speedy redressal of public grievances related to cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, ration and other basic services during holy month of Ramadhan, Chief Secretary, B B Vyas on Friday chaired a meeting of concerned HoDs of various essential services Departments, at Civil Secretariat.
Chief Engineer (M&RE) Wing Kashmir, Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir, Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) Kashmir, Director Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Commissioner SMC and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Chief Secretary urged the HoDs to give top priority and focused attention for addressing public grievances received in their offices regarding damaged transformers, street lighting, water supply, ration, drainage, roads, garbage disposal etc so that people do not face any inconvenience during the holy month.
Chief Secretary received a brief about disposal of the grievances/complaints, which have been received from 28 May 2017 to 2 June, 2017. While interacting with HoDs, the Chief Secretary observed that the meeting was convened to address complaints/ public grievances received by his office pertaining to various basic services particularly non-availability of drinking water in certain areas of Srinagar and other adjoining areas.
