Over 100 archers participate in competition at Nubra

Jammu, May 30: Army today organised an Archery Competition for the locals of Nubra valley.
The overwhelming response saw participation of 115 students from nine Schools and twenty locals of Nubra region in the competition.
The competition consisted of three categories Sub Junior (upto 15 Yrs), Junior (upto 18 Yrs) and Senior (above 18 Yrs).
The competition was conducted with an aim to keep the oldest tradition of the sport of archery alive in the region and also to foster team spirit in the students.
The competition was conducted over a period to two days with the first day nominated as practice day and second day as the day of final competition.
A large number of villagers had gathered as spectators to enjoy the sport and cheer the participants.
The villagers appreciated the efforts of Army in promoting the sports of Archery in the region and help in preserving the local culture and tradition.
